A wall as a single artwork
Everything here is composed to be looked at rather than repeated. That changes how you hang it: there should be one clear place to stand and see it whole, and the furniture in front should be low.
It also changes how much else the room can take. A wall that is a painting does not want three framed prints on the opposite wall and a patterned rug. Let it be the thing.
Style periods, briefly
Chinoiserie — birds, blossom and branches on a pale ground — is the most adaptable, and the reason it has survived three centuries. Art deco is graphic and gold-friendly and belongs in rooms with strong lines. Botanical plates and herbaria read as scholarly and suit studies and dining rooms. Loose watercolour is the softest and the safest next to existing pattern.
If you are unsure, chinoiserie and watercolour are the two that most often survive a change of furniture.
How ordering works
Every mural is printed to the wall size you enter, so there is nothing to cut down and nothing left over. Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free, for a clean finish at the ceiling and baseboard.
Five materials cover almost every wall: Non-Woven if the wall is smooth and the mural is staying, Textured if the wall has small flaws to hide, Premium Textile when you want the print to read like a painted canvas, Peel & Stick if you rent or change your mind often, and Canvas Peel & Stick for a canvas surface that still goes up without paste. Order a sample of any of them first — it is the cheapest way to see how a colour behaves in your own daylight.
Common questions
You can, but most of these designs are composed as a whole and covering part of one looks like a mistake rather than a layer. If you need wall space for pictures, choose a repeating pattern instead of a composed artwork.
We print at photographic resolution, so brushwork, paper grain and ink bleed are all visible at normal viewing distance. Premium Textile adds a woven surface that makes painted artwork read more like paint and less like a photograph of paint.
Premium Textile if you want it to look like a hand-painted panel, Non-Woven if you want the artwork clean and flat. Both hold the fine line work; the difference is entirely in how the surface catches light.
