Why a landscape changes the room
Every landscape carries a horizon, and your eye reads a horizon as distance even when it is eighteen inches from your face. That is the whole effect: a wall stops being a boundary and becomes a view. It is why these work best on the wall you look at from the doorway, and why they are wasted on the wall behind your head.
Height matters more than width here. Keep the horizon somewhere near seated eye level — roughly four feet from the floor in a living room, a little lower in a bedroom — and the scene reads as a window. Push it up towards the ceiling and it reads as a picture hung too high.
Choosing between near and far
Two kinds of landscape sell, and they do opposite jobs. A distant one — hazy ridges, a lake, a valley receding into mist — is quiet, sits behind furniture without arguing with it, and is the safer choice for a room you sit still in. A near one, where trees or rocks fill the frame, has presence and behaves more like a forest mural: strong in a hallway or a dining room, heavy in a small bedroom.
Colour temperature decides the rest. Cool grey-blue distance recedes and calms. Warm, golden-hour light advances and animates, which is what you want on a stair or in a room you only pass through.

Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. No. The design is printed to the width and height you enter, and the crop tool on the product page shows you exactly which part of the scene lands on your wall before you order. On a very wide wall you will see more of the landscape, not a stretched version of the same amount.
It is one of the few patterns that reliably does. A receding scene gives a small room somewhere to look, which reads as depth rather than clutter. Keep it to one wall, and prefer a distant, low-contrast scene over a dark close-up one.
Plan for it. Measure from the floor and decide how much will be hidden by a sofa back or a headboard, then use the crop tool to slide the composition up so the part you care about sits above that line. Most landscapes have very little happening in the bottom foot.
