Frequently asked questions
Everything customers ask before and after ordering. If yours is not here, email [email protected] and we will answer, then add it to this page.
Ordering
No. You can check out as a guest with just an email address. An account is optional: it keeps the orders you place while signed in, your saved addresses and your details in one place. Any order, placed as a guest or not, can be followed on the order tracking page with its order number and email.
Email us as soon as you can. An order can go to print as soon as the next business day, so there is a short window where we can still change a size, material or shipping address at no cost. Once your mural is printed we cannot cancel it, because it is cut to your wall and cannot be resold. Samples can be cancelled any time before they are printed.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay in supported browsers. Payments are processed by our payment provider over an encrypted connection, and we never see or store your full card number. Prices are charged in US dollars. If a payment is declined, the most common cause is a billing address that does not match the card on file.
Enter the code in the promo field on the cart page or in the first step of checkout and the discount appears in the order summary before you pay. One code per order, and codes cannot be combined with each other. If a code does not apply, check the minimum order value and the expiry date in the email it came from. We cannot add a code after an order is placed.
There is no minimum size — and no maximum either. Very small walls are charged at a minimum: one minimum area at the chosen material's rate, $52.94–$68.76 depending on the material. The configurator shows the exact price for your size before you add anything to the cart, and it tells you when the minimum is what you are paying. Samples have no minimum at all.
Sizing and measuring
Measure the width in three places, at the floor, at mid height and near the ceiling, and use the largest number. Do the same for the height, at the left edge, the middle and the right edge. Walls are rarely square, so the largest measurement is the one that guarantees full coverage. Enter those two numbers in the configurator in inches or centimeters.
No, give us the finished wall size and nothing more. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free — you pay for the wall, not the margin — so your panels arrive slightly oversized and you cut the surplus away against the ceiling, baseboard and corners after hanging. Adding your own margin on top means you pay for material you will throw out, and it can push a design off center.
Murals are printed to the size you enter, so there is no fixed design width to run out of. Scenic designs are cropped and scaled to your ratio, and the configurator preview shows exactly which part of the artwork lands on your wall. Repeating patterns simply tile further across. If a crop cuts something you care about, adjust the frame in the configurator or write to us.
Yes, but order each wall separately so every mural is printed to its own measurements and its own panel layout. Ordering one large mural and cutting it yourself almost never lines up at the corner. If you want the pattern to continue around a corner as one scene, send us both wall sizes and your order numbers through the contact page and we will set the crops up for you.
No. Measure the full rectangle of the wall as if the opening were not there, order that size, and cut the opening out after the panels are on the wall. That keeps the design continuous above and beside the door or window, which is what makes a mural read as one image. Cutting around an opening on paper before hanging almost always shifts the alignment.
Order the full rectangle that contains the sloped or stepped area and trim the angle in place with a sharp blade and a straight edge. For stairwells, measure the highest point and the widest point of the wall. Ceilings are measured the same way as walls, though a second pair of hands is close to essential. Send us a photo if you want us to check the crop first.
Materials
Peel and stick has adhesive on the back, needs no water or paste, and lifts off cleanly later, which makes it the usual choice for renters and for anything that changes often. Paste-the-wall is a non-woven paper you hang dry onto a pasted wall. It is thinner on the surface, sits flatter over a large area, costs less per square foot and is built for a long install.
Textured and Premium Textile are the two built for uneven walls. Their heavier weight and surface grain bridge light orange peel and knockdown finishes instead of telegraphing every bump. Plain Non-Woven and the two self-adhesive materials all want a smooth, primed wall and will show texture through the print or lose grip on it. If you are unsure, order a sample and press it onto the actual wall.
Four of the five tolerate a gentle wipe with a soft, barely damp cloth. Premium Textile is the exception: it is a woven fabric and water marks it, so keep it out of kitchens and bathrooms and vacuum it instead. None of them is scrubbable. Never use bleach, solvents, magic erasers or abrasive pads on any of them, and blot rather than rub near a seam.
Yes. Every paste-the-wall order ships with enough adhesive for the area you bought, along with the panel layout sheet and hanging instructions. Peel and stick orders need no paste at all. If you run short because of a large wall or a second attempt, any standard non-woven wallpaper adhesive from a hardware store works the same way.
Murals arrive as numbered vertical panels rolled in a sturdy tube, not as one huge sheet. Paste panels are about 39 inches wide and peel and stick panels about 24 inches, so one person can handle them. Hang them in number order, edge to edge with no overlap. Each panel carries a small printed margin that you trim at the ceiling and baseboard.
We print with water-based, low-VOC pigment inks, so there is no solvent smell and a room is usable as soon as the paper is dry. A faint paper scent for a day or two is normal, and airing the room clears it.
Installation
Skip bare drywall, raw wood, brick, heavy texture, existing wallpaper, flaking paint and anything with damp or mold. Paint that is less than three weeks old is still curing and will pull away with the paper. Non-stick, satin and scrub-resistant paints also give adhesive very little to hold onto. A primed, cured, matte or eggshell wall is the ideal surface for every material we sell.
Wipe the wall with clean water and let it dry fully, with no detergent or sugar soap left behind. Fill and sand any holes, remove switch plates and outlet covers, and lay a drop cloth. Then draw a plumb vertical line one panel width from your starting corner with a level or laser. That line, not the corner, is what your first panel follows.
A tape measure, a level or laser line, a pencil, a sharp utility knife with spare blades, a wide taping knife as a cutting guide, a smoothing tool or plastic squeegee, a clean sponge and a step ladder. Paste installs add a roller and tray for the adhesive and a bucket. Change the blade often, since a dull blade tears paper rather than cutting it.
One careful person can hang a standard wall, but two make it much faster and much straighter. The second pair of hands holds the top of the panel against the line while the first smooths downward, which is where most alignment errors happen. For ceilings, stairwells or anything over about ten feet tall, treat a helper as required rather than optional.
Dust it with a dry microfiber cloth or a vacuum brush attachment. For a mark, use a soft cloth barely dampened with water, blot rather than scrub, and dry the spot right away. Premium Textile has a fabric face and should be vacuumed only. Avoid bleach, solvents, abrasive pads and steam on every material, and keep water away from the seams.
Peel and stick lifts off dry: warm a corner gently with a hairdryer, then pull slowly downward at a shallow angle against the wall. Paste-the-wall non-woven strips off dry in full panels from a bottom corner, with no scoring or soaking. Both leave sound, primed paint intact in normal conditions. Work slowly and re-warm rather than yanking if a section resists.
Shipping and delivery
Printing takes 1–3 business days from your order. Murals and samples follow the same schedule, and weekends and holidays are not business days. Custom uploads are printed after you approve the proof. You get a tracking email the moment the carrier label is created.
Plan on 3–10 business days from order to doorstep: printing, then 2–7 business days with the carrier, wherever you are. Remote and island routes can run a few days longer, and customs can add time on international orders. If you are working to an install date, order at least two weeks ahead so there is room for a delay or a replacement.
Shipping is free on every order, to every country we ship to, with no minimum and no exception for samples or oversized murals. There is nothing to add at checkout, no handling fee and nothing to pay on arrival — every order ships duty paid. We ship with UPS and FedEx and choose whichever service reaches your address fastest on the day the order is packed.
Yes. As soon as the label is created we email you a tracking number and a link to the carrier. Tracking usually goes live within a few hours of that email, once the parcel is scanned at the first depot. If the number has not moved after two business days, write to us with your order number and we will chase the carrier.
Yes — worldwide, free, in the same 2–7 business days once the order is printed. Choose your country at checkout. Every order is delivered duty paid: we pay any import duties and taxes, so there is nothing to pay when it arrives.
Returns
Every order is made to order for your wall — printed to your measurements, in your crop, just for you — so it is one of a kind and can’t be returned for a change of mind. If anything arrives damaged, we replace it or refund it in full. That is why samples and the free wall preview exist: they settle a colour, a material and a crop before anything is printed.
Murals and custom uploads are printed to your exact wall and made only for you — nobody else could hang them — so they can’t be returned for a change of mind. That is why we encourage samples first and why the configurator shows the full crop before you buy. If the mural arrives damaged, misprinted or different from what you ordered, that is on us and we replace it or refund it in full.
Open the tube and check every panel before you hang anything. If a panel is creased, scuffed, misprinted or not what you ordered, email us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage and the packaging. We replace it or refund it in full, at no cost to you. Once a defective panel has been hung we can no longer replace it.
No. A replacement is printed and shipped free, or you get a full refund, and there is nothing to send back unless we ask for it. Keep the original packaging until you are sure everything is fine; the carrier may want to see it.
Samples are meant to be taped up, peeled off and lived with for a few days, so they are not taken back. At $13.99 each, or $7.00 each for 4 or more, they are the cheapest way to avoid a mural you do not love. If a sample arrives damaged or the wrong material, tell us and we will send a replacement.
Custom wallpaper
Send the largest original you have as a JPG, PNG, TIFF or PDF, up to 200 MB. Photos straight from a camera or phone are best; a copy that has been through a messaging app or a social network has been compressed. Do not upscale the file yourself — send the original and we will enlarge and clean it up for print.
Send it and let us worry about that. We never refuse a file over its resolution. A person checks every upload at your wall size before anything prints; if it needs enlarging, sharpening or cleaning up we do it, and if we think it still will not look the way you hope, we write to you first and suggest what would work better.
Yes. Vector files such as PDF, SVG, AI and EPS print crisply at any size and are the best choice for logos and lettering. Scanned artwork works too if the scan is high resolution. Tell us in the order notes how the artwork should sit on the wall, and we will show you the placement on the proof before anything is printed.
Always. After you upload, we send a digital proof showing the crop, the scale and where the panel seams will fall, usually within one business day. Nothing goes to the printer until you approve it, and you can ask for changes. Printing begins after approval, so the 3–10 business days delivery window starts from your approval rather than the order date.
You are. By uploading you confirm that you own the image or have permission to reproduce it. We cannot print copyrighted photographs, stock images you have not licensed, film and TV stills, sports logos or brand marks that are not yours. If we spot an obvious rights problem we will contact you rather than print it, and we will refund the order.
Commercial
Yes. Designers, contractors and multi-site clients get project pricing that scales with square footage, and we quote the whole job rather than per wall. Send us the room count, approximate square footage and your timeline through the commercial quote form and you will have a written quote within two business days, along with a swatch pack of the materials we recommend.
Yes. Premium Textile carries a Class A fire rating, and for public areas and corridors we quote a Type II commercial vinyl with a Class A rating, supplied with its certification. If your project is governed by ASTM E84 or a local equivalent, say so in the brief and we will confirm the material and its documentation in writing before you order.
A single room follows the standard schedule: printing in 1–3 business days and delivery 2–7 business days after that. Larger rollouts are scheduled around your install dates, and we will tell you the real date in the quote rather than a stock estimate. Custom artwork adds a proof round of about one business day per revision.
Yes, and it usually saves everyone time. Send us the elevations or a marked-up floor plan and we will return a panel layout, a square footage breakdown and a material recommendation your installer can price against. We can label and box the panels by room so nothing has to be sorted on site, and we will talk your installer through anything unusual.
