Designing a room they will not outgrow in a year

The trap with children's rooms is buying for the age they are now. A three-year-old's favourite character is gone by five, and the mural is not.

Subjects that last are the ones with some drawing in them rather than a licence: hot air balloons, hills, animals, weather, the solar system. They read as decoration at three and as pattern at nine. If you do want something very specific to this year, print it on Peel & Stick — it comes off in an afternoon when the enthusiasm moves on, and the paint underneath stays as it was.

Materials for a child's room

Peel and stick is the popular choice, and for good reason: it goes up without paste, comes off without damage, and survives being redecorated around. Non-woven is the better long-term surface if the room is staying the same for years, and textured hides the small dents that appear in any room with a child in it.

How ordering works

Every mural is printed to the wall size you enter, so there is nothing to cut down and nothing left over. Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free, for a clean finish at the ceiling and baseboard.

Five materials cover almost every wall: Non-Woven if the wall is smooth and the mural is staying, Textured if the wall has small flaws to hide, Premium Textile when you want the print to read like a painted canvas, Peel & Stick if you rent or change your mind often, and Canvas Peel & Stick for a canvas surface that still goes up without paste.
