How pink behaves on a wall

Blush and clay pinks are flattering in the literal sense — they throw warm light back at people in the room, which is why they work in bedrooms and dining rooms. Bright and cool pinks are a different proposition entirely and belong in rooms used briefly. Pink is also the ground that makes green look its best.

What to put pink next to

Pink with deep green is the pairing that never dates. Pink with brass and cream is soft; pink with charcoal and black is sharp. Avoid pairing a dusty pink with a cold grey — the grey will make the pink look sickly.
