Designing for a room that will change

A nursery has a shelf life of about four years before it becomes a child's bedroom. The designs that survive that transition are the ones that are not obviously babyish: hills, balloons, clouds, stars, soft animals, botanical patterns in gentle colours.

Buy for the room, not the age. A pale meadow or a hot-air-balloon sky still works at seven; a cartoon character does not.

Safety and materials

We print with water-based inks and there is no solvent smell once the panels are dry. Ventilate while you hang it and for a few hours afterwards, the same as after painting, and the room is ready to use.

Peel and stick is the most popular nursery choice because it removes cleanly later. Non-woven is better if the wall is staying papered into the school years.

How ordering works

Every mural is printed to the wall size you enter, so there is nothing to cut down and nothing left over. Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free, for a clean finish at the ceiling and baseboard.

Five materials cover almost every wall: Non-Woven if the wall is smooth and the mural is staying, Textured if the wall has small flaws to hide, Premium Textile when you want the print to read like a painted canvas, Peel & Stick if you rent or change your mind often, and Canvas Peel & Stick for a canvas surface that still goes up without paste.
