Sky on a ceiling

A cloud or sky design is the rare mural that genuinely belongs overhead. On a ceiling it has no horizon to get wrong and nothing for furniture to cover, and it changes a room more than the same design on a wall ever could.

Measure the ceiling exactly as you would a wall — widest and longest point — and expect installation to take roughly twice as long and to want two people. Peel and stick is not the material for a ceiling; use non-woven and paste.

Charts versus skies

Antique star charts are drawings: fine linework, gold or ink on a dark ground, and full of things to read. They reward a wall you stand close to — a study, a stairwell, a hallway.

Painted skies and cloudscapes are the opposite, and behave like a landscape. Soft, low-contrast and calming, they are the safest thing to put in a bedroom or a nursery and one of the few patterns that does not make a small room feel busier.

How ordering works

Every mural is printed to the wall size you enter, so there is nothing to cut down and nothing left over. Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free, for a clean finish at the ceiling and baseboard.
