What a printed texture can and cannot do

A printed texture gives you the colour, grain and variation of a material across a whole wall for a fraction of what the material costs, and it can go on a wall that would never carry real stone.

What it cannot do is cast a shadow. Up close, a printed brick is obviously flat. That matters in a narrow hallway where people pass within a foot of the wall, and does not matter at all on a wall you view from eight feet away. If you want relief as well as pattern, print the design on Textured, whose fine emboss catches light, or on Premium Textile for a woven face.

Where each material lands

Marble reads as luxury and works behind a bed, in a dining room or in a cloakroom. Concrete and plaster read as calm and modern and are the best backdrops for colourful furniture and art. Brick and timber read as warm and characterful, and are the most likely to look like a costume if the rest of the room is very contemporary.

Textures are also our most popular commercial choice, because they photograph well and hide wear.

How ordering works

Every mural is printed to the wall size you enter, so there is nothing to cut down and nothing left over. Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free, for a clean finish at the ceiling and baseboard.

Five materials cover almost every wall: Non-Woven if the wall is smooth and the mural is staying, Textured if the wall has small flaws to hide, Premium Textile when you want the print to read like a painted canvas, Peel & Stick if you rent or change your mind often, and Canvas Peel & Stick for a canvas surface that still goes up without paste.
