The wall behind you
Video compression dislikes fine, high-contrast detail — it shimmers. A soft, low-contrast design reads as a considered backdrop on camera, where a busy geometric pattern reads as noise.
Maps, misty landscapes, plaster and concrete textures and large calm abstracts all film well. Sit where you normally sit, take a photograph on your phone, and see how the wall behind you looks at that distance.
The wall you face
Whatever is directly in your eye line all day should be quiet or should be nothing. If your desk faces a wall, put the mural behind you or to the side and leave the facing wall plain.
If the office doubles as a guest room or a spare room, the mural is doing double duty — choose something that works with a bed in the room as well as a desk.

Common questions
Low contrast and soft focus: maps, misty forests, plaster and concrete textures, large abstract washes. Avoid tight stripes, small checks and high-contrast black-and-white patterns, which alias badly on compressed video.
One wall with depth in it — a forest, a ridge line, a map — usually makes a small room read larger, because the eye travels into the image. Pattern on every wall of a small office does feel cramped.
Yes. Fix as you normally would; the paper is not structural. Drill through it rather than cutting a hole first, and the fixing will be tight against the print.
