Terracotta, ochre, sage and cream; motifs borrowed from textiles, basketry and block printing; and an accepted irregularity in the drawing. Nothing in a good boho pattern looks machine-made. It is the opposite of the precision that geometric and modern designs depend on.

Making it work in a real room

Boho murals are the most tolerant of an uneven wall, a sloping ceiling or a room full of mismatched furniture, because the pattern itself is irregular. They pair with rattan, jute, unglazed ceramic and plants. Where they struggle is next to high-gloss, chrome and very contemporary furniture, which makes the looseness look accidental rather than chosen.

Every mural is printed to the wall size you enter, so there is nothing to cut down and nothing left over. Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free, for a clean finish at the ceiling and baseboard.
