What makes a design rustic

Materials that show their age and their making: reclaimed planks, lime-washed brick, weathered stone, plaster with trowel marks. The colours are the colours those materials actually are, which is a narrow warm range of greys, browns and creams.

Making it work in a real room

Rustic textures are the most effective way to give a featureless modern room some character, and the least effective thing to put in a room that already has exposed brick or beams — you end up with two competing versions of the same idea. Keep the rest of the room simple and let the surface do the work.

How ordering works

Every mural is printed to the wall size you enter, so there is nothing to cut down and nothing left over. Measure the wall at its widest and tallest point, type those numbers in, and the price updates as you go. Every panel is printed with a trim allowance on each edge, free, for a clean finish at the ceiling and baseboard.
