Schools and nurseries need finishes that pass a fire inspection, survive heavy contact at child height, and clean easily. There is also an opportunity most other sectors do not have: a wall that teaches something. Maps, the solar system and natural history all work as decoration and as reference.
What we specify
Textured throughout classrooms, for its weight and its tolerance of a wipe. Corridors, which are usually fire-rated walls, take a Type II commercial vinyl with a Class A rating, quoted with the project and supplied with its certification. Content-bearing designs — world maps in particular — earn their place because they are used rather than just seen.

Common questions
We print with water-based, low-VOC inks and can supply the ink and substrate data sheets. Where a wall must be fire rated we specify a Class A material — Premium Textile, or a Type II commercial vinyl for corridors — and supply its certification with the order.
It is the most impact-resistant surface we print on and is specified for exactly this use. It can be scrubbed rather than only wiped.
